JP-Australia Windsurf Board Slalom PRO 2023: FAST!

Sizes: 55 / 62.5 / 72 / 85 (width)
Discipline: Slalom

Unleash Your Speed

Control and top speed are paramount when aiming for the podium, and JP-Australia's Slalom PRO 2023 delivers just that. Designed for blazing speeds in PWA competitions, these boards—62.5, 72, and 85—ensure lighter riders stay in control, even when fully overpowered. The 85 excels in light wind conditions, while the smallest 55 proves its worth on speed slalom tracks like the Defi Wind.

Optimized for Speed and Control

When designing the Slalom PRO 2023 line, the team focused on increasing average speed across the race course, with special attention to gybing, where significant gains can be made. The goal was to maintain speed throughout the turn and exit faster. The three larger shapes offer an improved, stable riding position, requiring less effort to reach and maintain top speed. They also provide excellent early planing power and versatility. The wide tails offer substantial leverage towards the fin, resulting in more power and control.

Comfort and Efficiency

The smooth deck shape guarantees a comfortable stance, preserving energy for longer runs. All sizes feature an additional pad wedge between the tail straps, providing a more connected feel. Each board size has a unique tail cut-out configuration for the perfect mix of release and control.

From the mid-section to the nose, the apex point of the rail is lifted, adding volume to the rail and helping with speed when exiting gybes. The concave deck shape includes an additional recess for the deck box, lowering the pivot point of the mast base for added control during gybes and ensuring efficient airflow by closing the gap between the board and sail.

Tail Cut-Out Design

The 72 and 85 feature forward-starting cut-outs, with the 72 finishing with a wider inner cut-out for stability and the 85 with a pointy finish for extra release. The 62.5 has a cut-out starting closer to the fin for high wind stability and a reduced surface area behind the fin for perfect water release.

Six Core Design Elements

  1. Dual Tail Outlines: Individually adjusted for each board size, reducing wetted surface and creating multiple release points for low drag and high speed. The deck outline over the cut-outs is wider, allowing the rider to load more power onto the fin.
  2. Transforming Vee Flow: Strongly pronounced Vee in front of the mast base, decreasing between foot straps and opening towards the tail, making gybing smoother and helping exit turns at full speed.
  3. Compact Concept: Parallel outline in the mid-section maximizes planing surface at the mast base for instant planing.
  4. Thin Profile: Reduces drag in the nose area, with a sunken deck keeping the swing weight centered for great top-end control.
  5. Deck Shapes - Stance: Fine-tuned for a comfortable ride, allowing the rider to focus on speed.
  6. Deck Shapes - Efficiency: Proven concave deck with an additional recess for the deck box, enhancing control and efficiency by sealing the gap between the board and sail.

The 55 and 62.5 come with the normal Tuttlebox, while the 72 and 85 feature JP’s specially reinforced Foil-Tuttlebox.
