The distinction between a dedicated foil board and a foil-converted twin tip matters. Purpose-built foil boards are optimised in stiffness, flex, and track placement for efficient foil riding from the first pump. Twin tips adapted for foiling can work but are a compromise. For riders progressing into foiling, a dedicated board with a strong centre box and reinforced deck pays off quickly in comfort and progression rate.
