Kitesurf impact vests and life jackets provide buoyancy and impact protection in one piece of kit — particularly important in offshore conditions, waves, or when riding far from shore.

CE-rated impact vests provide 50N of buoyancy — enough to support a resting adult face-up in calm water. They also absorb the shock of high-speed water entry after big crashes, protecting ribs and internal organs. Watersport-specific vests are cut short at the waist to work with a kite harness — standard sailing life jackets interfere with harness operation and are not suitable for kitesurfing.
