Windsurfing Sails — Choose the Right Sail for Your Riding

The sail is the most important piece of windsurfing equipment — it determines how early you plane, how fast you go, and how responsive the rig feels. Our selection covers all disciplines: freeride sails (easy to rig, wide wind range), wave sails (light and manoeuvrable for surf riding), freestyle sails (stiff profile for pop and rotation tricks), and slalom or race sails (maximum speed).

Sail size is determined by your weight and local wind conditions. Lighter winds require larger sails (7–9m+); strong winds call for smaller sails (4–6m). Beginners benefit from a forgiving freeride sail with good low-end power; experienced sailors may run multiple sails. Always match your sail's recommended mast curve (IMCS) to your mast for correct profile.
