The Result: Next Generation IDOL LTD
After nearly two years of development, we've delivered the biggest update since its 2014 introduction. Let's break it down:
Ultralight, without Sacrificing Durability
By simplifying the panel layout and replacing multi-layer with single-layer high-tech reinforcements, we reduced the weight by another 200g, making the new IDOL LTD one of the lightest Freestyle Competition sails. Following our LIGHT DONE RIGHT philosophy, this weight reduction does not compromise film thickness or durability. Additionally, our nearly unbreakable Epoxy wave-battens can handle even the toughest wipe-outs.
Unique Batten-Free Center Concept
The IDOL LTD features a wider gap between the foot batten and the batten above the boom. This larger batten-free area enhances sail performance in several ways:
- Expanded wind range: The sail loads up faster for early planing and instant acceleration, providing more control as it absorbs chop and releases smoothly.
- Smoother ducking: The sail goes neutral during ducking and reloads more gradually, unlike the usual radical on-off behavior of typical Freestyle Competition sails.
- Increased lift: Efficient profile loading enhances air moves.
- Improved stability: The sail stays loaded to maintain a stable feel.
- Lighter feeling: Enhanced release for effortless maneuverability.

Key Features
- Convex Dacron Luff-Panel: Maximum elasticity without batten distortion, maximizing lift for all jumps against the sail.
- Batten-Free Center: A larger gap between the foot batten and the batten above the boom increases wind range, lift for air moves, and improves balance and power during ducking.
- Light Done Right Construction: Weight reduction of 200-300g without reducing the main panel thickness, preserving durability.
- Hollow Lower Leech: Scooped leech outline stabilizes the profile above the boom, preventing fluttering.
- iRocket 2.0: Factory-calibrated batten tensions using a torque wrench.
