Kite size depends on your weight and typical wind strength. A 70kg rider in 20–25 knots would typically fly a 9m kite; in 12–18 knots, a 12m. Most kiters own 2–3 kites to cover a full wind range. C-kite shapes give maximum feedback and power for freestyle; delta and bow kite shapes offer better depower and safer relaunching for freeride use.
