Created for use by professional sailors on the PWA TOUR, the Mono-Button Mast Base and Extension System (MXT) was designed to provide a secure and strong connection while also being easy to use. The MXT Extensions are constructed with a stainless steel cleat/pulley bottom assembly, resulting in a lightweight and durable product.
To increase strength, weight was reduced by eliminating excess plastic and increasing the cross-section of stainless steel parts.
This extension can now handle up to 900kg of downhaul load, twice as much as what is typically used on the largest racing sails. The unique tilt bottom pulley design ensures optimal sail pulley/rope alignment and reduces downhauling friction, allowing for a smooth and efficient downhaul.
